Jang Geun Suk’s popularity in Japan grows day by day and during a few interviews he made a shocking revelation about his ‘girlfriend’.

Before you jump out of your seat, take a deep breath and relax since he was just joking. He started telling the interviewer that after filming ‘Marry Me, Mary’, he only rested for 10 days, and since then he started to work without a break. He suddenly shocked the reporter by saying that his girlfriend was a Japanese…, and then he stopped and confessed he was just kidding. The playful Jang Geun Suk also commented that a primary school fan followed him while shopping in Shibuya once.

Right now he is filming the movie ‘You’re my Pet’ and traveling around Asia meeting fans at his ‘CRI Show’ in Thailand, China, Taiwan and Shanghai.

It has also been reported that Jang Geun Suk had a meeting with the Korean director Yoon Seok Ho (Winter Sonata, Spring Waltz, Summer Scent and Autumn Tale), a few days ago, in order to be part of the new romantic drama ‘Our Happy Days of Youth’. Previously Big Bang’s T.O.P was a candidate for this role, but his schedule will not allow him to take it.

Jang Geun Suk Schedule is actually full until August, but since Yoon Seok Ho contacted him there is a high possibility that he might be part of the drama that is set to be released in September 2011. The first part of the drama will be filmed in Japan and since Geun Suk’s popularity in Japan is pretty good recently, he is a good option for the producers. Another good reason is because if he takes the lead it will attract an investment of US$150,000 for each episode

The Japanese investors have stated that they prefer Jang Geun Suk over Hyun Bin. Actually a lot of dramas have him as his first choice and his popularity in Japan might even be able to surpass Bae Yong Joon.

There are also comments that state that his success if he takes the drama is not guarantee. Some of the opinions are based om the fact that Yoon Seok Ho’s dramas have a tragic and innocent love, that is not the current trend in Korea. Also they mentioned that Jang Geun Suk’s work has been pretty popular in Asia, but was not accepted that well in Korea. Finally it was mentioned that if he takes this role the viewers will have the final decision on his future.

It is true that as it was stated Jang Geun Suk’s work as an actor has not been highly recognized so far by the audience, but he is actually pretty good and fans are able to see how much he has evolved since his first roles until know.

His work as an actor might have not been popular in Korea, but global fans can not deny that his movies ‘Baby and Me’ and ‘Do Re Mi Fa So La Ti Do’, as well as his dramas ‘You are Beautiful’ and ‘Marry Me, Mary’ have been loved by them.

So far he is still a young man who has a bright future ahead, with many surprises waiting for him.
